Obon -Bon festival-

Hi everyone! This is Kan-chan, hoping everyone is enjoying their summer!

Many Japanese will receive off from work in the middle of August because of Obon, the Buddhist Bon festival. For the Japanese, this period of the year ranks in importance with the New Year holiday, with many people returning to their hometowns and spending time with their families. The days it is observed depend on regions, Bon is from July 13th to 16th or from August 13th to 16th on the lunar calendar.
