Hello, it is Tomomi.

We have one of the most beautiful seasons in Japan.

The cherry blossoms are in full bloom.

In Japanese schools the academic year begins in April, so we are now in graduation season in March.

How about your country?

When we graduate, we receive a diploma like in this photo.

We usually roll up the diploma and place it in a tubular case.

Pyeongchang Olympics & Paralympics and Korean dishes

Hello, it is Tomomi.

With the cold winter wind, I feel like it is below freezing point in Japan.

The Pyeongchang Olympics have started!!

I have been glued to the TV.

I have been impressed by the performance of not only the Japanese players but also the players from different countries.

Hitsu-mabushi

Hello, it is Tomomi.

The days are getting shorter in Japan.

I think fall is just around the corner.

I like fall because I think food is more delicious and the weather is more comfortable to go out.

The other day, I went to Nagoya.

名古屋城_01.jpg

One enjoyment of travel is to eat local dishes.

Local dishes in Nagoya is called "Nagoya-meshi".

Nagoya-meshi is a Japanese regional cuisine of the city of Nagoya and the surrounding region in central Japan.

It includes "Miso-katsu", "Tebasaki", "Hitsu-mabushi, and so much more.

Miso-katsu is deep fried pork cutlets covered in rich miso sauce.

Tebasaki is spicy Nagoya fried chicken wings.

In this post, I will talk about "Hitsu-mabushi" which is one famous Nagoya-meshi.

Onigiri

Hello, it is Tomomi.

August 11th is mountain day.

It is a new national holiday in Japan.

It started from 2016.

It is a day to give thanks to mountains.

It seemed that many mountain climbing events were held that day this year, too.

Though I did not climb a mountain that day, I climbed mountains when I was a child for school events.

I loved the taste when I ate "Onigiri" at the top of the mountain.

In this post, I will talk about Onigiri.
